“The life span of a spider varies dramatically and depends on the actual species of spider involved. Some spiders only manage to survive for a season, whilst others live for up to twenty years. The average life span of a spider though, seems to be around one or two years. Spiders tend to live longer in warmer climates. Tarantulas in captivity have been known to live for up to twenty years, partly due to the warm climates they live in and presumably, partly to do with their ‘cushy’ living arrangements.”

Well, honestly, I’ve seen much worse on commercial TV, and you have too. And if millions of people are watching Tillman the skateboarding dog (at least 18 million views) and Nora the piano-playing cat (at least 12 million views), isn’t that audience valuable? Why are people so scared of advertising on user-generated content?

YouTube’s daily hits are irregular, and that’s a big part of its charm. You’re not tuning in at 8 p.m. for your favorite show; you’re getting sent a link by one of your friends, clicking on something related, browsing around to today’s top hit, and looking up from your screen half an hour later. According to comScore, YouTube viewers watch an average of 49.7 videos per month on the site. The real action on YouTube on a daily basis is unpredictable — it often comes from first-time uploaders with compelling content that separates them from the pack.

Yet YouTube only shows advertising against videos from its partners. Users are allowed to be partners, but only if they have an established library and audience. One of the top criteria for becoming a user partner is “You regularly upload videos that are viewed by thousands of YouTube users.”

“YouTube is looking for citizen journalists.

“People around the world have been using YouTube to report on the events and issues affecting their lives, shedding light on stories that might otherwise not be told and offering new perspectives on events covered by the traditional media,” notes YouTube’s Olivia M. “To highlight these journalists on YouTube, we’re announcing the launch of the Reporter channel type.”

Reporter channels are like other YouTube channel types –- such as Comedian, Guru and Musician — but are specifically intended for citizens and professionals dedicated to informing others about the news and events in their local communities and around the world.

If this applies to you, you can go to the Channel Info page within My Account, click “Change channel type” and select “Reporter” from the pull-down menu.

YouTube plans to create a special browse page to highlight “Reporter” channel content.

YouTube offers several examples of the type of content they are looking for:

* People who tote around their cameras offering “on-the-scene” coverage of local news and events
* Students producing their own weekly newscasts
* Active community members who conduct interviews with local leaders

New Poisonous Spider in the United States

I am glad that I have friends that care about me. I from time to time get an email from them warning me about something because they care about me. I think 99.9% of the time it is a “Urban Legend.”
I sort of hate to reply back to the friend because I know took the time and they were thinking of me… But I always do reply back.. ego on my part? I don’t want them to worry or be passing the dire warnings all around the world.

I just got one warning me of a new poisonous spider in North Florida. The warning was about the Two-Striped Telamonia. It is fake of course.. after you see a few of these type of stories you get where you can smell them out pretty fast..
One thing.. don’t believe anything you get from someone you do not know.. don’t believe any email you get.. Also these fake stories all have a little too much detail. They also always warn you to “pass” on the warning to others via email.

If I were God I would fix it were the people that create and release crap like this could never use a computer again. I am not talking about the people that don’t know any better and pass it on.
Or maybe if I were God, in this case, I would make the person spend the rest of their life lifting toilet seats.

There are a lot of things we need to worry about but we do not need to worry about the Two-Striped Telamonia.

Here is the fake story.

“Three women in North Florida , turned up at hospitals over a 5-day period, all with the same symptoms. Fever, chills, and vomiting, followed by muscular collapse, paralysis, and finally, death.
There were no outward signs of trauma. Autopsy results showed toxicity in the blood.These women did not know each other, and seemed to have nothing in common.
It was discovered, however, that they had all visited the same Restaurant (Olive Garden) within days of their deaths.
The US health department descended on the restaurant, shutting it down. The food, water, and air conditioning were all inspected and tested, to no avail.
The big break came when a waitress at the restaurant was rushed to the hospital with similar symptoms.She told doctors that she had been on vacation, and had only went to the restaurant to pick up her check.
She did not eat or drink while she was there, but had used the restroom.
That is when one toxicologist, remembering an article he had read, drove out to the restaurant, went into the restroom, and lifted the toilet seat. Under the seat, out of normal view, was a small spider.
The spider was captured and brought back to the lab, where it was determined to be the Two-Striped Telamonia (Telamonia dimidiata), so named because of its reddened flesh color. This spider’s venom is extremely toxic, but can take several days to take effect. They live in cold, dark, damp climates, and toilet rims provide just the right atmosphere.
Several days later a lawyer from Jacksonville showed up at a hospital emergency room. Before his death, he told the doctor, that he had been away on business, had taken a flight from Indonesia , changing planes in Singapore , before returning home. He did not visit (Olive Garden),while there.
He did, as did all of the other victims, have what was determined to be a puncture wound, on his right buttock.
Investigators discovered that the flight he was on had originated in India. The Civilian Aeronautics Board (CAB) ordered an immediate inspection of the toilets of all flights from India , and discovered the Two-Striped Telamonia (Telamonia dimidiata) spider’s nests on 4 different planes!
It is now believed that these spiders can be anywhere in the country.
So please, before you use a public toilet, lift the seat to check for spiders.
It can save your life!”

I got a new computer. It has an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU and is 2.40 GB in speed. It has 2 GB of memory. The video card is an Nvidia 8600 GT with 512 of memory.
It is very fast. The cooling fans are also very loud.

The computer came with Windows Vista. I need Windows because I have a lot of Windows programs that I have paid for and I use. But I could not stand Vista. I am not sure what I am going to do now… I guess I will see if I can live with just Linux and no Windows.
I do know about Wine and ran it for a few days. I do not have Windows on this computer right now.

I better get back to trying to get programs that I can use installed on Ubuntu. Wish me luck.

People are suing him saying his service didn’t work.
At least 20 people have received a driver’s license using Davis’s Social Security number.
A guy in Texas got an on line payday-loan, for $500.00, using his Social Security number.
Life lock service charges $10.00 a month.

I found a great site: Pendrivelinux.Com

I bet your like me and you have a memory stick and you have no idea what to put on the dam thing. They have step by step plans on how to make that USB thumbdrive a device to boot up your computer.

This would let you have a thumbdrive with you with Linux and you could use any computer to boot up and run your Linux with your files and not harm or change the computer your using.

I have not done it yet but I am going to do it when I get time.
